Pinning Hopes on US Mediation is Self Deceit

REACTING to the mediation offer on Kashmir, by the US envoy to UN, Nikki Haley, senior CPI(M) leader and MLA, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, in a statement issued on April 7, has said that past and the present experience clearly shows that the US has exploited various political issues faced by the third world countries for justifying its intervention and furthering its agenda of hegemonisim.In the recent past the US has directly or indirectly created havoc in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen and Syria. It allowed the massacre of millions by destabilising the governments in these countries.

Stop Brutal Killings of Unarmed Civilians

EXPRESSING deep shock and grief over the loss of two precious lives in Chadoora Budgam, CPI(M) Jammu and Kashmir state committee has said that such incidents could have been avoided if the security forces would have exercised maximum restraint.In a statement issued on March 30, it said that the law enforcing agencies are refusing to draw lessons from previous such experiences and warned that such killings are bound to inflame the situation.

CITU Campaigns for ‘Equal Pay for Equal Work’

THE two-day state committee meeting of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) Jammu and Kashmir unit concluded was held in Jammu on December 24-25. The meeting was presided over by its state president and MLA MY Tarigami. All India president of CITU, Hemalata was also present in the meeting. Probe Recent Civilian Killings in the Valley

SENIOR CPI(M) leader and legislator Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami submitted three resolutions in Jammu and Kashmir state assembly on December 26 about the constitution of a commission of inquiry headed by retired Supreme Court judge to probe the recent civilian killings in the valley, urging upon the government of India to initiate a process of structured dialogue with all stakeholders to find out solution to the Kashmir issue and also ban the use of pellet guns by security forces to meet any law and order situation.Besides submitting three resolutions, Tarigami also submitted a private members

A DELEGATION of CPI(M) regional committee, Jammu led by its regional secretary, Sham Prasad Kesar visited various villages located near zero line like Palanwala, Khoud, Gigdyal etc on October 13, to take stock of the problems of the border inhabitants who stand adversely affected due to firing from across the Line of Control and International Border as a result of which people have migrated from the area and are living with their relatives.

Stop Killing Unarmed Civilians

IN response to the massive unrest emerging after death of Burhan Wani and his associates, the use of brutal force against the unarmed protesters by the government has resulted in unfortunate killing of number of unarmed innocent persons, which is highly condemnable. The present unrest is the expression of intense anger of the people against the oppressive policies of the government. The killing of unarmed civilians by security forces shows that the government is reluctant to learn any lesson from the past.
