Another Murderous Attack by the RSS in Kerala

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on October 10, 2016.THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the brutal murder of its Paduvilai local committee member, K Mohanan, by RSS hoodlums this morning. A group of heavily armed RSS goons entered the toddy shop where the 52 year old Mohanan was working and hacked him to death. There were around 30-40 sharp wounds inflicted on his body. This is the second murder of a CPI(M) worker in the Dharmadom constituency represented by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

On Government’s Brief to Some Opposition Leaders

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on September 29.THE government briefed some leaders of the opposition parties on certain operations conducted by the Indian army. The government informed that at two points across Kupwara and Poonch these operations took place.The government had informed that these operations have ended this morning. The CPI(M) expects that there is no further escalation of hostilities henceforth.The CPI(M) expresses the hope that now incidents like at Pathankot and at Uri will not recur.

Reject the Proposal of Creating a "Bad Bank"

IN a letter written to the prime minister on October 4, regarding the proposal to create a “bad bank” as the solution proposed by the government to overcome the humongous  amounts of outstanding NPAs by the corporates, Sitaram Yechury, general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), noted that bad loan provisioning for most State-owned banks doubled – and even trebled in some cases – in 2015-16, as shown by recent reports. To make matters worse, the core earnings of most of these banks have fallen grossly short of the requirement for bad loan provisioning.

Against Ratifying Paris Agreement on Climate Change

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on September 27, 2016.PRIME Minister Modi's announcement that India would ratify the Paris Agreement on Climate Change is both surprising and violative of the assurance that this BJP government had given to parliament.Soon after the Paris Summit, the parliament was assured that India would not ratify the Paris Agreement until the national laws relating to environment, forests and energy are examined in the light of their capacity to implement the various provisions of the Paris Agreement.

CPI(M) Delegation Visits Greece

A TWO-member delegation consisting of Sitaram Yechury, CPI(M) general secretary and Mridul De, Central Committee member  is on a four day visit from September 21, to Greece at the invitation of the Communist Party of Greece. During this visit they would be having bilateral talks and exchanges on the international situation and the situation in their respective countries.

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement on September 22, 2016.THE decision by the union cabinet to merge the railway budget with the general budget is a unilateral step without discussion in parliament. It was parliament which was empowered to discuss railway finances and development.The abolition of a separate railway budget is not what it is purported to be.
