Jharkhand: CPI(M) Holds Adivasi Rally in Ranchi
ON November 17, 2023, to mark the Martyr Birsa Munda Birth Anniversary which was two days ago, an impressive rally and public meeting of around 5,000 people, most of them adivasis, was held at Bundu in Ranchi district of Jharkhand
CPI(M) Polit Bureau member and AIKS president Ashok Dhawale, Jharkhand state secretary Prakash Viplav, and Party AIKS, CITU and AIDWA leaders Suresh Munda, Sufal Mahato, Rangovati Devi, Sukhnath Lohara, Bhawan Singh, Veena Linda and others addressed the rally.
The speakers launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had visited Jharkhand two days earlier, and had announced two new schemes for tribals while simultaneously introducing regressive, anti-tribal amendments in the Forest Conservation Act to facilitate corporate acquisition of tribal land. They also exposed the BJP regime's agenda to surrender the nation to corporate interests and its divisive communal tactics aimed at polarizing people along religious and caste lines. The speakers called for the defeat of the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and emphasized the need to strengthen the Left.
