AP: Rich Tributes Paid to EMS and Swarajyam

RICH tributes were paid to late Comrade EMS Namboodiripad on his 25th death anniversary and to Comrade Mallu Swarajyam on her first death anniversary. A meeting was organised by the CPI(M) Andhra Pradesh committee on March 19, at Vijayawada. Party state secretariat member D Ramadevi presided over the meeting. Leaders garlanded the photos of departed leaders first and observed two minute silence and paid homage.
Speaking on the occasion, V Srinivasa Rao, CPI(M) state secretary said that the two great leaders sacrificed their whole life for the welfare of the toiling masses even though they were born in rich families. Com EMS as the first Communist chief minister showed the ideal path for how people's representatives from a communist party should work for the welfare of the poor and for the development of society. He said that the foundation laid by EMS has been leading Kerala in performing high in the entire country in the human development indicators. Comrade Mallu Swarajyam participated in the heroic Telangana Peasants Armed Struggle at the age of twelve and held high the Red flag till her last breath. She was a great fighter and organised poor in the villages against landlords. She, as a legislator in the united Andhra Pradesh assembly, played an exemplary role, Srinivasa Rao said. A Vanaja, CPI national executive member remembered her early days and praised the life style of great leaders like P Sundarayya, C Rajeswara Rao and others. She urged the younger generation to learn from the lives of great leaders and to work for the welfare of the people.
Former member of CPI(M) Central Committee P Madhu released the booklet ‘Pelipotunna Adani budaga’ (Telugu version of Adanis’ Balloon Running Out of Gas) in this connection. He lauded the commendable services and sacrifices of departed leaders and said that we have to mobilise people against the loot of corporates and the communal BJP government.
