Strongly Condemn Bomb Attack on CPI(M) Kerala State Committee Office
CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on July 1
THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemns the bomb attack on the CPI(M) Kerala state committee office, AKG Centre, last night.
We are confident that the state government will investigate thoroughly and punish the culprits.
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) calls upon all democratic forces to condemn this cowardly attack and peacefully protest guarding against falling prey to any provocation.
Statement by CPI(M) Kerala State Secretariat
CPI(M) strongly condemns the attack on AKG Centre. Massive mass protests should be organised peacefully across the state against this attack.
The LDF government is moving forward with the support of the people towards rebuilding Kerala and the state has a peaceful atmosphere suitable for that. Kerala has become the best state in terms of law and order in the country. The progress report released as a part of the first anniversary of the LDF government also states that the government is moving forward in all areas, to fulfill the promises made to the people. In recent times, the right-wing forces have resorted to deliberate violence to stop development activities with a narrow political objective instead of being aligned with the overall development of Kerala. Moreover, the UDF, BJP, other communal parties, and left-wing extremists are working together to put pressure on the central government to stop development activities in the state. The blatant lies of the accused in the gold smuggling case, which defame the chief minister and his family, is a continuation of these efforts. Organised efforts are being made in the state with the help of a section of the media to unite all who are anti-left.
They aim to provoke Party comrades. Attacking Party offices, burning Party flags, attacking the chief minister on the plane, and attacking the Party centre itself are parts of this. Despite the attack on the CPI(M)'s state headquarters, the UDF is not ready to condemn it. Moreover, a statement from the KPCC president justifies the attackers. Their policy is not a denial of violence but one that encourages it. This is the position adopted by all the anti-Left forces.
Protests should be carried out peacefully all over the state to isolate such violent groups from the people, which operate with clear political agendas. All people who love the Party should overcome all provocations and engage in carrying forward the political vision and development approach advanced by the Left Democratic Front. Various forms of attacks unleashed by opponents on the Party must be countered. All Party members and those who believe in democracy should be ready to expose the politics behind it and mobilise and convince the people. There should be an investigation by the police to bring those who attacked the AKG Centre and those behind it to justice.
