ELECTION manifesto for the Bihar elections was released in the state party office by the CPI(M) state secretary, Awadesh Kumar. Along with him, Arun Mishra, Sarvodaya Sharma, Rampari and Ganesh Shankar Singh were also present. A party's website and an app were also released in the same press conference. Awadesh Kumar placed the relevance of the present election in the state and the imminent need for the defeat of the JD(U) & BJP alliance. The CPI(M) and the Left parties in the state have become part of the 'mahagathbandan' to ensure that communal and divisive politics are defeated in the state.

while placing some of the main points of the manifesto, Awadesh Kumar highlighted that the present government has betrayed the mandate of the last elections in which BJP was decisively defeated. However, JD(U) handed over the keys of the government to the BJP through a backstage drama by aligning with it. In this way, the last 15 years, the JD(U) and BJP were ruling the state and have implemented anti-people policies. One after the other scandals popped up in the previous regime that includes, 'toilet scandal', 'water and tap' scandal and so on.

In the recent past, Niti Aayog and NCRB report has exposed the development model and law and order situation in the state of Bihar. During this period there were heinous crimes like the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home and rape of a girl in Aria and then her parents being falsely implicated and put in the jail have become a slur on the state.

The Bihar government failed to deal with the crisis of the migrant workers returning to their homes during the lockdown. The government disbanded them and left them to deal with themselves. The government miserably failed on the health aspect to deal with the Covid-19 situation. Likewise, it has been a blot on the social issues and in fact, cases of rape and atrocities on women have increased substantially during this regime. This government must go, earlier the better.

The four candidates who are contesting from the CPI(M) are Ajay Kumar from Vibhuti; Satyendra Yadav from Maanjhi; Rajendra Singh from Matihani and Raj Mangal Prasad from Pipra. The Party-state secretary also appealed to the common voter that in all the three phases of the elections support and elect the 'mahagathbandan' candidates.
