KERALA: ‘Women Wall’ on New Year Day
NS Sajith
KERALA will form ‘Vanitha Mathil’ (Women Wall) on January 1, 2019. This will be formed by over 176 renaissance organisations of Kerala. The ‘women wall’ will be formed from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram, which is a distance of over 600 km. A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting which was chaired by the chief minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan. This decision was taken in the backdrop of violence unleashed by the Sangh Parivar outfits after the decision of the Supreme Court to allow women of all ages to enter the Sabarimala temple. The slogan of the ‘women wall’ is, “don’t make Kerala a lunatic asylum again”. Swami Vivekanand had termed Kerala as a lunatic asylum after he witnessed cruelties of the caste system in the state.
A massive awareness campaign will be organised to protect renaissance values of Kerala. A renaissance protection committee was formed under the chairmanship of Vellappalli Natesan of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam. Kerala Pulaya Mahasabha leader Punnala Srikumar is the convener. K Sivaprasad (MP) is the treasurer. "We hope that all political parties will cooperate with this historical movement," Pinarayi said.
