State Govt Should be Held Accountable for Jat Reservation Violence
THE Haryana state secretariat of the CPI(M) has taken exception to the manner in which the total negligent role of the BJP government and its political leadership before and during the Jat reservation violence was not held responsible by the Prakash Singh Committee that probed the violence during the stir. Giving reactions on the report submitted on May 31, the Party in a statement issued on June 1 has questioned how the chief minister could escape from his accountability especially he being in charge of the home portfolio as well.
It is a well known fact that the political angle was deliberately excluded from the ambit and scope of the Prakash Singh Committee. Besides this, no one is assured that the truth relating to the failure and implication of the ruling party leadership will ever be revealed even by the judicial probe led by Justice(retd.) SN Jha, the statement said.
However the seven member Citizen’s Tribunal constituted by Sadbhavna Manch has chiefly blamed the political leadership in power along with top level bureaucracy for the violence.
The CPI(M) state secretariat has demanded that all casteist persons belonging to various political hues found responsible for their provocative role by the Prakash Singh Committee should be brought to book.
