ICWA to Observe Harkishan Singh Surjeet Birth Centenary on July 25

THE Indo Canadian Workers Association of Canada held a public meeting in Surrey, Canada on June 21. This public meeting was to remember and pay tributes to the Victims of 1985 Air India flight no 182 bombing and two baggage handlers at Tokyo Airport. Surinder Sangha, the president of ICWA and Jinny Sims, MP were the main speakers. It was a full hall meeting. Several members from the victims family came to attend and shared their emotional feelings who have been waiting for justice even after 30 years. Surinder said that those responsible for the biggest terrorist attack in Canadian history are still roaming free and victims family members are still waiting for justice. He demanded the Canadian government to bring the culprits to justice. Many speakers shared their stories about the families who lost their innocent family members. Surinder Dhesi, Kulwant and Paramjit Gandhri and others spoke on this occasion and a minute of silence was observed. ICWA held an extended meeting of its members on June 28. It reviewed the preparations for the upcoming events on July 25-26. July 25 event is being organised implementing the Party Congress resolution to celebrate Harkishan Singh Surjeet birth centenary. The Gadri Memorial Mela on July 26 is dedicated to Bhai Mewa Singh, Kartar Singh Sarabha and other Gadri heroes.
