DYFI Holds Political School

A THREE day political school for leading youth cadre from south Indian states was held in Hosur, Tamilnadu from May 22-24, 2015. Inaugurating the school, Prakash Karat, former youth leader and Polit Bureau member of the CPI(M), said that the classes would help youth activists in achieving clarity on important issues as well as in their ideological development. A total of 106 young cadre attended the classes, including 32 young women cadre. There were five classes held, namely: 1. Current political situation and the tasks of the youth, taken by Prakash Karat 2. Neo-liberal agenda: communalism and counter revolution, by Prabhat Patnaik 3. Communalism and the ways to combat it, by Mohd Salim 4. Youth of the 21st century, by Sitaram Yechury 5. On organisation, by MA Baby. The central executive committee of the DYFI was also held on the sidelines of the meeting. The CEC decided to organise a big rally in New Delhi in November 2015 raising the issues of unemployment and communalism. It will hoist national flag on August 15 and rallies and seminars etc will be organised in connection with this. Big programmes will be organised in at least four-five centers in the states. The CEC also decided to organise state level study camps by July 2015.
