On 21 July 2026, the AIKS Maharashtra State Committee organised a 5,000-strong statewide rally at the Azad Maidan in Mumbai. Braving the rains and in spite of the busy sowing season, thousands of peasants came from 15 districts of all the 5 regions of the state - Konkan, Western Maharashtra, Northern Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha. They included Thane-Palghar, Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Pune, Raigad, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Beed, Parbhani, Nanded, Buldana, Amravati, and Yavatmal.

The AIKS rally was on the very next day of the savage repression unleashed by the BJP Union Government on thousands of students and youth in Delhi, who wanted to peacefully march to Parliament with their legitimate grievances related to the examination and education systems. The rally expressed full solidarity with this massive Delhi struggle of students and youth, and denounced the inhuman attack on them by the police of the Modi-Shah regime. The rally also strongly opposed the unequal and disastrous US-India Trade Deal.

An AIKS delegation met the State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and the State Agriculture Minister Dattatraya Bharane. Both of them agreed to give important concrete concessions on the burning local issues of the rally - the faulty loan waiver package of the state government, peasant ownership of temple trust lands, homestead lands, and pasture lands, crop insurance compensation, etc. 

P Sainath, renowned journalist and Founder-Editor of the People's Archive of Rural India (PARI), while addressing the AIKS rally, warned against the new policy dangers in the agricultural sector coming from the BJP-led regimes. 

The rally was led and addressed by AIKS National President Dr Ashok Dhawale, State General Secretary Dr Ajit Nawale, State President Umesh Deshmukh, CITU State Secretary Vinod Nikole, MLA, and other AIKS state office-bearers Dr Uday Narkar, Kisan Gujar, Sunil Malusare, Radka Kalangda, Chandrakant Ghorkhana, Chandu Dhangda, Sadashiv Sabale, Manik Avghade, Uddhav Poul, Ajay Burande, Shankar Sidam, Arjun Adey, and Sanjay Thakur. 

Shubha Shamim (CITU), Prachi Hatiwlekar (AIDWA), Kiran Gahala (AARM) and Shailendra Kamble (JASS) greeted the AIKS rally.
