A DYFI worker has been brutally killed by RSS goons at Kumbala village in Kerala’s Kasaragod district. The incident took place around 5 pm on October 27 when 37-year-old Murali, a member of DYFI Shatipallam unit committee, was riding a motorbike, along with his friend Manjunath. The RSS goons, led by Sharat, stopped the motorcycle and stabbed him repeatedly to death. This was the second attempt on Murali’s life.

Murali, a resident of Shantipallam in Kumbala, was attacked by the RSS goons near Apsara Mill area near Sithamgoli. Manjunath and local people rushed him to Kumbala Cooperative Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Murali is survived by wife Ranjini and eight-month-old daughter Malootti.

DYFI and CPI(M) have condemned the brutal murder and demanded swift action against the accused. LDF also called one-day hartaal on Tuesday in Manjeshwaram and Kasaragod taluks. Police have registered a case in which Sharat is the first accused.

Last year, RSS criminals tried to kill Murali, but he survived the bid on his life after prolonged treatment. The incident happened in the backdrop of a controversy created by the BJP and the UDF over the killing of RSS criminal Manoj in Kadirur. The conspiracy hatched by the UDF government and BJP to hand over the Manoj killing case to the CBI was exposed recently. The content of the letter written by the state home department to the central government was filled with fictitious details of the accused.

MANGALURU MODEL ATTACK

ON KOZHIKODE RESTAURANT

IN an incident hitherto unknown to Kerala, a restaurant in Kozhikode has been vandalised at the behest of RSS goons bent on moral policing. The restaurant, named Down Town Café, on P T Usha Road in Kozhikode was vandalised in broad daylight by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists, claiming that some immoral activities were going on there. The attack was a replica of the pub attack by Pramod Muthalik-led Sri Ram Sena goons in Mangaluru on 24^th January 2009.

The attack took place after a local TV channel telecasted visuals of students and young couples chatting in the restaurant. Around 20 goons reached the restaurants following the telecast and they also informed other television channels prior to the attack. The attackers alleged that the owners facilitated the immoral activities inside the restaurant. They went on a rampage shattering the glass panes and destroying furniture, television sets, and other properties.

The Vellayil police have registered a case on the basis of a complaint filed by the owners of the restaurant. BYJM leaders claimed that they had evidence to prove that immoral activities were going on in the eatery.

However, managing director of the restaurant Bazil Moosa denied the allegations. Moosa said that there was a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera installed in the restaurant and that no such incident had come to their notice.
