Messages of Greetings From Fraternal Parties
JANATA VIMUKTI PERUMANA, SRI LANKA (JVP)
Members of the Presidium,
Delegates of the 24th Congress of the CPI(M),
Dear Comrades,
WE, the Central Committee of the Peoples Liberation Front - JVP Sri Lanka send our warmest greetings to the 24th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), which is held from April 2-6, 2025 in Madurai, Tamilnadu. At this remarkable occasion we would like to take this opportunity to remember and pay our respects again to the former General Secretary of CPI(M), Comrade Sitaram Yechury for his life time efforts for the people's struggle.
According to the information, a new political resolution and organisational report will be adopted and a new leadership will be elected. We believe that the 24th Congress will strengthen the work carried out by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) to expand its influence among the people in their struggle for socialism in your country and for the peaceful, just, equitable, democratic, and prosperous new world order we all aspire to.
Dear Comrades, your Congress is taking place at a critical time when imperialists are carrying out oppression, especially in the Asian, African and Latin American regions. With the return of Trump to the US political helm, the imperialist atrocities seem to have taken a more aggressive turn. The only way to end imperialism is to overthrow capitalism and the only people who are capable of doing this are the proletariat organised with Marxist-Leninist theory and practice.
Dear Comrades, we greet your 24th Congress as a partner of the new progressive government we have established with the support of the majority of the masses in Sri Lanka. We formed a people's front — the National People's Power (NPP) — rallying our country’s progressive and Left-oriented forces.
With a massive campaign lasting over two years and spanning the entire island, we were able to form a people's government, driving out the vicious, gluttonous, and plunderous regimes that ruled this country for more than seven decades. In this endeavour, we are glad to acknowledge the enthusiasm and support of the people from the North, East, West, and South – especially those working in the plantations.
We believe our victory stands as an example for all Marxist-Leninist movements striving to liberate their people.
We again express our revolutionary greetings to the 24th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) with the hope of strengthening the ties between our parties in the spirit of authentic internationalism and wish you success in the struggle for socialism.
Long live the Communist Party of India (Marxist)! Long live Internationalism!
Fraternally,
On behalf of the Central Committee,
Tilvin Silva, General Secretary,
People's Liberation Front -JVP Sri Lanka
COMMUNIST PARTY OF GREECE (KKE)
Dear comrades,
ON behalf of the Communists of Greece, we would like to convey to you our best wishes for the success of the 24th Congress of your Party, which is taking place under conditions of very dangerous developments for the peoples of the world.
The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) highly values its long-standing comradely relations with the CPI(M) and expresses its solidarity with the working class and the people of India and your struggle against capitalist exploitation and the anti-people, nationalist policies of the Modi government, which has launched a fierce attack on workers’ and people’s rights and resorted to vandalism, violent attacks and even assassinations against the CPI(M) and the communists in India.
Our party salutes the special contribution of the CPI(M) in organising and leading mass struggles of workers, poor farmers and the self-employed, with international resonance, such as the multi-day nationwide militant demonstrations of farmers against the government's legislation to strengthen the big agro-food business groups at the expense of the landless and small farmers, and the strikes and other struggles of workers in several important sectors of capitalist production.
Dear comrades, we share the same position on the dangerous character of the international developments. Let us note that the imperialist wars, the intensification of imperialist competition in the Indo-Pacific region and the real danger of a nuclear holocaust, together with the anti-people policies of the governments and the bourgeois parties, liberal and social democratic ones, underline the undeniable truth that capitalism gives rise to imperialist war, class exploitation and economic crises that lead to the suffering of the peoples.
Dear comrades, allow us to inform you that the KKE in Greece is waging hard class struggles against the anti-people policies of the New Democracy government and the bourgeois parties. It clashes with the bourgeoisie and its power, the imperialist unions, NATO and the EU.
The national general strike that was organised with great success on February 28, on the second anniversary of the deadly railway accident in Tempe – a crime that was bound to happen – under the slogan “Their profits or our lives”, is historic. It set millions of workers, people and youth in motion and the struggle continues.
At the same time, the KKE is leading the people’s movement in our country against the imperialist war that is being waged for the division of markets and natural resources, against the US and NATO military bases. We struggle against the involvement of our country in the slaughterhouses of war, for the disengagement of Greece from the imperialist alliances of NATO and the EU, with the people masters in their own land.
We stand with the peoples of Russia and Ukraine, who are shedding their blood due to the imperialist war, while they prospered together in the 70 years of socialism, building a society without exploitation of man by man.
Every day we take many initiatives in support of the people of Palestine, who have the right to have their own independent state on the borders that existed prior to June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. We also stand with all the peoples of the Middle East who are suffering under the occupation and attacks of the murderous state of Israel and its US–NATO– EU allies. We demand an immediate end to the massacre of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the imperialist interventions in Lebanon and Syria.
We struggle for the regroupment of the workers’ movement and the formation of the social alliance of the working class and the popular strata, in a direction of struggle against capitalism and the monopolies in order to open the way for the only solution for the people, i.e., the overthrow of capitalist barbarity and the construction of the new, socialist–communist society.
We are aware that today the communist movement is facing many great and new challenges, which require the study of developments, the exchange of views and experiences, the development of joint actions and the development of revolutionary strategy.
With these thoughts, we once again wish you success in the work of your Congress and strength in your struggles.
With comradely greetings,
International Relations Section of the CC of the KKE
PORTUGUESE COMMUNIST PARTY (PCP)
Dear Comrades,
ON behalf of the Portuguese Communist Party, we convey warm greetings and wishes of great success for the proceedings of the 24th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). We are confident that your Congress will be a high point in strengthening the struggle of your Party and of the working people of India, in these difficult times with which the peoples of the world are confronted.
The structural crisis of capitalism and the relative decline of US and other imperialist powers continues to intensify, posing serious threats for the peoples of the world. The election of US President Trump is an expression of that crisis and decline, and at the same time a factor that could contribute to escalate them. The conflicts and clashes between different factions within the US ruling class and with the imperialist European powers do not reflect any real attempts to change the nature of imperialist exploitation, plunder and aggressiveness against the peoples of the world. They are the expression of the growing realisation that the policies of neocolonial pillage associated with the capitalist globalisation that have marked the past decades are becoming unsustainable. At the same time, they reflect those powers’ profound difficulties in charting a new course that can maintain their policies of plunder and domination. In this context, militarism, authoritarianism, fascistic trends, assaults on the peoples’ rights and living standards and war are increasingly becoming central to the policies of these ruling classes. Their fundamental unity in sustaining the genocide against the Palestinian people and in escalating war in the Middle East is a clear sign of the profoundly reactionary and warmongering nature of imperialism, whether of the US, of the UK or of the European Union.
The development of a vast and complex world-wide process of realignment of forces, with the relative decline of the USA and other imperialist powers gathered in the G7 and the quick ascent of new countries, first and foremost the People’s Republic of China, but also India and other countries, is accelerating the contradictions inherent to a world whose financial system is controlled by the US. This is an important process, which can open up new possibilities for resistance to the rule of imperialism, a possibility that the imperialist powers intend to prevent at all costs. But it is crucial that the workers and peoples of the world make their voice and demands heard, both to halt the slide towards a major confrontation in the nuclear age and to defend their class interests within this ongoing process. In this sense, the role of Communist Parties is crucial in organising and providing the path to the mass struggle.
Portugal does not escape the effects of these main tendencies. For the second time in one year, early elections have been convened, and will be held on May 18. A massive reactionary campaign is underway, to make working people pay the cost of the crisis and to impose the authoritarian militarisation which the European Union has embarked upon. All forms of falsehoods, manipulation, promotion of far-right forces and provocations are already underway. This does not prevent our Party from being committed to organising and intensifying the workers' struggle against the right-wing policy, which the parties at the service of big capital and the EU agenda want to continue impose. And also to promote the struggle for peace and the solidarity with all peoples who are confronting the imperialist onslaught, from Palestine to Socialist Cuba. We view these elections as yet another front in an intense and difficult overall struggle against the forces of reaction and war.
In the challenging times that we live in, it is of the utmost importance to strengthen the unity, cooperation and converging struggle of the Communist and Workers’ Parties, and of these with other anti-imperialist and peace-loving forces. It is essential to unite all forces that stand for peace and social progress, and against imperialism and war, in a common front that can halt and reverse the dangerous course that the imperialist ruling circles are imposing upon the Humanity.
As serious dangers persist resulting from the exploitative and aggressive offensive of imperialism, the action of workers and peoples continues, with the potential to develop the struggle for sovereignty and democratic rights, for progressive and revolutionary transformations.
It is with this confidence that our Party held its 22nd Congress, last December, under the slogan “Force of April. Taking the initiative, with the workers and the people. Democracy and Socialism”, and remains deeply engaged in Portugal to the struggle for a patriotic and left-wing alternative, towards an advanced democracy with the values of the April Revolution, for socialism.
Expressing our solidarity with your struggle, we reaffirm our desire to strengthen our traditional bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation with the CPI(M). We renew our wishes of great success for your 24th Party Congress.
Long live the friendship between the PCP and the CPI(M)!
Central Committee of the Portuguese Communist Party
WORKERS’ PARTY OF BELGIUM (PTB)
Dear Comrades,
WE extend our warmest comradely greetings to all delegates and members of CPI(M) on the occasion of your 24th Congress, to be held from April 2–6, 2025 in Madurai, Tamilnadu. This historic gathering, which will deliberate on critical political and organisational questions, reaffirm and update your program, and elect a new leadership, comes at a pivotal moment in the struggle against authoritarianism and imperialism.
Our Party salutes your unwavering commitment to advancing the cause of socialism amidst the profoundly challenging political conditions in your country. Over the past decade, India has known intensified attacks on democratic rights, marginalised communities, and the working class. In this context, your Congress’s discussions on building resistance, strengthening working-class unity, and charting a socialist alternative carry immense significance.
We are looking forward to develop the collaboration between our parties further. The ideological, political and organizational strength of your party is very important to develop a global counter- offensive against imperialism and to build a broad front against war, militarisation and fascisation, and for peace, cooperation and solidarity. Your domestic and international struggle against reactionary forces inspires comrades across borders, reminding us that the fight for socialism is both a national and international duty.
By conveying a message of solidarity to your 24th Congress, we express our shared resolve to combat imperialism, neoliberalism, and communal hatred, and to advance the vision of a socially just and democratic society. We are confident that your party will emerge stronger, more united, and ever more determined to confront the challenges ahead.
In solidarity,
Peter Mertens Secretary General
Workers’ Party of Belgium (PVDA-PTB)
COMMUNIST PARTY OF BRAZIL (PCdoB)
Dear Comrades,
THE Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) warmly welcomes the holding of the 24th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
This important event takes place at a crucial moment. The far right is gaining political ground worldwide, but at the same time, there is growing resistance from peoples and nations against the hegemonic power of the declining U.S. imperialism. Inter-imperialist contradictions are also intensifying, creating opportunities for the forces of national sovereignty, justice, and world peace to raise their banners.
The CPI (M) has been at the forefront of the struggle against the far right in India, and the resolutions and guidelines resulting from the congress debates will be of great value to our common fight against fascism, always with the goal of building socialism and communism on the horizon.
We wish the 24th Congress great success and express our desire to further strengthen the longstanding ties of friendship between the PCdoB and the CPI (M).
Long live the 24th Congress of the CPI (M)!
Long live proletarian internationalism!
Ana Prestes
Secretary of International Relations
SOUTH AFRICAN COMMUNIST PARTY (SACP)
Dear Comrades and Friends,
ON behalf of the Central Committee and the entire membership of the South African Communist Party (SACP), we extend our warmest revolutionary greetings and unwavering solidarity to the leadership and delegates of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) gathered for your 24th Congress.
We are honoured to share a message of support on this important occasion. As your friend and ally we continue to stand with you as we confront fascism, capitalism and imperialism. We also stand with you as we celebrate the creation of a more internationalist world on the path of communism.
We wish all delegates the very best as you undertake critical discussions to analyse the current political situation, adopt your political and organisational resolutions, and elect new leadership to carry forward the historic mission of your Party. India currently finds itself in a difficult place, or, should we say, the poor, marginalised and working class who form the majority of Indians citizens, find themselves under a regime that seems to put the interests of the elite and of a chosen few above those of the collective nation.
These conditions under which you find yourselves — an increasingly repressive and chauvinistic ruling party in India — are extremely challenging. Yet, the courage, discipline, and clarity of purpose with which the CPI(M) confronts these conditions is a testament to the resilience and rootedness of your Party among India’s workers, peasants, and oppressed peoples.
Thus, the SACP recognises the CPI(M) as a steadfast and principled force in the international communist movement. Indeed, your consistent struggle against neoliberalism, religious sectarianism, right-wing authoritarianism, and imperialist domination has been an inspiration to us and to many around the world.
As South African communists, we are painfully familiar with the brutal consequences of racial and sectarian politics, and we fully understand the danger posed by forces that seek to divide the working class along lines of religion, caste, ethnicity, or language. We salute the CPI(M) for its unyielding commitment to class unity, social justice, and democratic rights in the face of such adversity. We further note with appreciation your Party’s important work in mass movements, including the mass women’s movement and trade unions, and your efforts to build the broadest possible alliances in defence of democracy and the working class. These efforts are translated into your presence both on the ground but also within the corridors of political and state power.
We face common challenges across the Global South — deepening inequality, capitalist underdevelopment, ecological destruction, and the imperialist agenda of global monopoly capital. In this context, the role of communist and workers’ parties in building solidarity, developing alternatives, and leading the masses in the struggle for socialism is more vital than ever. The SACP is committed to deepening our bilateral relations with the CPI(M), learning from your rich experience, and contributing to a renewed and united international communist movement. We therefore look forward to your deliberations from this upcoming congress.
As you deliberate in Madurai, please know that your South African comrades are following your work with admiration and solidarity. May your XXIV Congress be a great success, and may it strengthen the CPI(M) for the battles and breakthroughs ahead.
Long live the Communist Party of India (Marxist)!
Long live international working-class solidarity!
Forward to socialism!
