ON January 16, the inauguration ceremony of the reception committee office for the CPI(M)’s 24th Party Congress was held with revolutionary fervour at Madurai’s Theekkathir Hall.

The meeting was chaired by the Tamil Nadu state secretary of the Party, P Shanmugam. Su. Venkatesan, MP, and secretary of the reception committee, delivered the welcome address. This was followed by the inauguration of the reception committee office by K Balakrishnan, Central Committee member and chairperson of the reception committee, who also delivered the keynote address.

 U Vasuki, Central Committee member, unveiled the emblem of the 24th Party Congress, symbolising the strength and unity of the working-class movement. The programme saw an enthusiastic gathering of Party members, marking it as a significant prelude to the main Congress scheduled to take place from April 2–6.
