Homage to Comrade K M Tiwari
CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on December 10.
THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) expresses its deep grief at the passing away of Comrade KM Tiwari, member of the Central Committee and former secretary of the Delhi state committee of the Party. He died this morning after bravely battling cancer for the past few months. He was seventy years old.
A trade union leader, Tiwari rose through the ranks working in the Ghaziabad-Sahibabad industrial belt. He went on to become the Delhi state secretary of CITU and was also on its general council and working committee for many years.
Joining the Party in 1977, Tiwari was elected to the Delhi state committee of the Party in 1988, to its secretariat in 1991 and to the Central Committee in 2018.
During the course of his political work, he was jailed for over three months and had to remain underground for three years and nine months.
The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) dips its red banner in his memory. It conveys its deepest sympathy and condolences to the members of his family.
