CPV Delegations Visit CPI(M) Headquarters
Two delegations of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) visited the central committee office of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and interacted with the Party leaders. They exchanged views on the current international situation and the scope for strengthening the relations between the people of the two countries.
Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, member of the Central Committee of the CPV and Vice-Chairperson of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, led a 12-member delegation and visited the Party headquarters on 8 November 2024. She had extensive discussions with MA Baby, Polit Bureau member and Head of the International Department of the Party. She had underlined the need for expanding the scope of people to people exchanges between India and Vietnam and stated that culture plays an important role in this process.
Nguyen Thi Thu Ha explained the progress made in Vietnam under the leadership of the CPV and also the challenges faced by the country. She expressed confidence that with the people solidly behind the Party, they can surmount all these difficulties and lead the country on the path of development and prosperity.
Jogendra Sharma and Arun Kumar, Party Central Secretariat members and Mamatha from People’s Democracy also joined these discussions on behalf of the CPI(M).
The second delegation of the CPV was led by Prof Nguyen Xuan Thang, member of the Polit Bureau of the CPV, Chairman of the Central Theory Council and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. He led a 14-member delegation and had extensive discussions with the CPI(M) leadership on 11 November 2024.
Nguyen Xuan Thang was received by Prakash Karat, Polit Bureau member and Coordinator of the Central Committee of the CPI(M).
Xuan Thang explained the role played by the CPV in the transformation of the country. He stated that 40 years ago the per capita GDP of Vietnam was $200 and now it is $5,600. The changes in the living standards of the people was a result of the correct application of Marxism-Leninism to the Vietnamese conditions. Ho Chi Minh thought, he stated is the guiding light in understanding the peculiarities of Vietnam through the lens of Marxism-Leninism.
Xuan Thang shared the importance given by the CPV to the development of Marxist-Leninist theory and also subjecting it to the test of practice. He said that in the fast changing international situation, this is all the more important. He also spoke about the preparations for the upcoming Congress of the CPV in 2026.
Xuan Thang lauded the efforts of the CPI(M) in upholding the principles of Marxism-Leninism. He also appreciated the efforts of the CPI(M) led LDF government in Kerala in providing succor to the people.
Prakash Karat, thanked the delegation for visiting the Party headquarters and explained the difficult circumstances in which the Party is functioning today. He congratulated the CPV for leading Vietnam in the path of overall development, withstanding the many challenges posed by the volatile international situation. He expressed confidence that the development model pursued by the CPV would inspire many others to take notice and apply it to their particular conditions.
Prakash Karat also explained the ongoing preparations to the 24th Party Congress of the CPI(M). He wished all success to the CPV, particularly its upcoming Party Congress.
