These measures are not just an episodic act. Trump clearly threatens with tariffs any country that dares to act in a manner not approved by him; he is weaponising tariffs to assert US hegemony, quite apart from using them for economic ends like raising domestic activity and reducing the US current account deficit.

Report of the Credentials Committee

FOR the first time the credentials of the delegates and observers attending a Party Congress were scrutinised before the commencement of the Congress. Based on this scrutiny the credentials of the comrades attending were found to be valid.The Central Committee in its meeting held from November 3 to 5, 2024 decided on the number of delegates to attend the 24th Congress and the state-wise quota of delegates. The number of delegates was fixed at 732 delegates. However, with the death of Central Committee member, K M Tiwari, the number got reduced to 731.

Delhi: DSMM Marks Ambedkar Jayanti with Call for United Struggle against Manuvad and Capitalism

THE Dalit Shoshan Mukti Manch (DSMM) of the Delhi-NCR region celebrated Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s 134th birth anniversary on April 14 at Parliament Street, Delhi, with a call to wage a united struggle against communalism and capitalism.The programme, attended by scores of people, began with CPI(M) General Secretary, M A Baby garlanding Dr Ambedkar’s photograph. He congratulated DSMM for the initiative and emphasized the importance of fighting for social justice to strengthen working-class movements across the country.

Telegana: A Tearful Farewell to Comrade Yerra Srikanth- CPI(M) Pays Tribute to a Committed Leader

COMRADE Yerra Srikanth, Telangana State Committee member of the CPI(M), who passed away suddenly due to a heart attack while attending the 24th Party Congress in Madurai, was given a tearful farewell in Khammam on April 9, 2025. Hundreds of people and Party cadres gathered to pay their last respects and joined the final procession.Members of the Party’s Telangana State Secretariat participated in the funeral. CPI(M) Polit Bureau member R Arun Kumar paid floral tributes to Srikanth’s mortal remains.
