Maha: 25,000 Rally for Martyrs’ Day in Thane-Palghar

ON October 10, Martyrs’ Day and the death anniversary of Godavari Parulekar were commemorated with great resolve across Thane-Palghar district, Maharashtra. This year’s observance carried special significance, marking 80 years since the first five martyrs of the Warli Adivasi Revolt, including key leader Jethya Gangad, were brutally gunned down by British colonial police-acting in collusion with the landlord class-on October 10, 1945.

MP: From Bimaru State to a State of Innocent Deaths

MADHYA PRADESH is in the news for many reasons these days. But these discussions are so tragic for the state that they have silenced the children’s laughter that once echoed in many homes. Now, there is mourning in those homes. There are the sighs and cries of family members. This situation has been created by commission (bribe) lust. At the time of writing, 26 innocent children have died, one after another. The question is: could these innocent lives have been saved? Could mothers' laps be prevented from becoming empty?

“Bubbles” and Neo-Liberal Capitalism

NEO-liberal capitalism has an immanent tendency towards stagnation, which arises because of the operation of two factors: the first is the growth in income inequality that it continuously spawns; since the poor consume the bulk of their incomes while the rich “save” (that is, do not consume) most  of it, consumption demand, and hence overall aggregate demand, tends to fall below the growth of producible output, resulting in a rise in unemployment and unutilized capacity that drives the economy down. This continuous tendency towards a rise in income inequality arises from the fact that, owing

WITH the closure of nominations for the two phases of the Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled for 6th and 11th November 2025, the political battlefield is now clearly drawn between the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) and the NDA (National Democratic Alliance). The contest is shaping up not just as a routine electoral event, but as a defining moment in Bihar’s political history. The nomination filing of Tejashwi Yadav, Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate, witnessed a massive and spirited turnout in his home constituency of Raghopur, near Patna.

Assaults on Dalits are getting more vicious by the day

THE Ekalavya episode in Mahabharata is widely known. But it is sought to be embedded in the narrative of valour of Pandavas and their shining tales of struggle for justice. Dronacharya’s extreme act of cruelty on Ekalavya’s incessant effort to accomplish mastery over martial prowess sticks out as a jarring note in the grand narrative of the timeless epic. The modern exponents of Hindutva, in their pernicious act of reconstructing the Indian past, remain busy in rebranding the grotesque caste driven social hierarchy as ‘mother of democracy’.

Party to Prioritize Working Class Outreach: Salim

CPI(M) West Bengal State Committee has announced the immediate launch of an ongoing campaign against the Election Commission (EC). The party contends that the EC is using the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process as a mere pretext for the intentional deletion of the names of legitimate voters in the state. State Secretary Mohammed Salim announced that a major protest rally, involving all Left parties, will take place in Kolkata on October 29, specifically targeting these alleged attempts at voter disenfranchisement.
