DYFI Organises Hindi School in Chandigarh

THE Democratic Youth Federation of India has organised an all India political school for Hindi speaking states in Chandigarh from November 1-3, 2014. 112 delegates participated in the political school. Sitaram Yechury, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member inaugurated the classes. MB Rajesh, DYFI president presided over the classes. Avoy Mukherjee, general secretary welcomed the delegates. Sitaram Yechury took the class on political economy. The second day, Nilotpal Basu gave his presentation on economy and political agenda of the Modi government.

DUJ Protest Day on November 28 Against Invisible Press Censorship

THE Delhi Union of Journalists and the Delhi Press Unity Centre 2014 have called upon activists to join the protest meeting in the union premises on Friday evening against the invisible press censorship of trade union movements in general and even of struggles including court cases pertaining to journalists and press workers.

125th Birth Anniversary Celebrations Of Jawaharlal Nehru by SAHMAT

TO mark the 125TH birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, Safdar Hashmi Memorial Trust (SAHMAT), in association with India International Centre, has organised a series of lectures by eminent personalities on the theme ‘Indian Modern and Nehru’. The first of these talks was held on 22 November 2014. The talk was delivered by eminent historian Professor Irfan Habib. He spoke on ‘Jawaharlal Nehru and Indian National Movement’. The talk, which was chaired Professor Mushirul Hasan, was attended by a large number of people from various walks of life.

Media reports state that the Commission has found no reason to summon the then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi in order to probe the responsibility and role of the state government in the riots.
