AIKS State Conference Vows to Intensify Struggles Against BJP Regime’s Disastrous Agrarian Policies

THE 22nd state conference of the Maharashtra Rajya Kisan Sabha was held from May 30 to June 1, 2016 in Thane-Palghar district, with 271 delegates from 23 districts who represented a membership of 2,60,423  -- the highest AIKS membership recorded in the state so far. NOVEL COFFIN RALLY The conference began on May 30 with a novel 10,000-strong Coffin Rally in the heart of Thane city. The peasants carried bamboo frames (called tirdi in Marathi) covered with white cloth, on which dead bodies are carried.

Is there any uniform advertisement policy for the organs of CPI(M)? We see that the central government ads on achievements of two years of Modi government have been published in various state Party organs even sparing full page of the paper. The contents of the advertisement which are always rejected by the Party in its day-to-day campaign, are given space in the Party organs. Doesn’t it create confusion among the common readers or common Party supporters who like to see that the Party organ does not carry anything contrary to the ideological stand of the Party?

CITU Calls for Extensive Campaign to Make Sept 2 Strike a Success

THE Centre of Indian Trade Unions has called upon all state committees, federations and unions to intensify the campaign to make the September 2 general strike against the anti-people and anti-worker policies of the Narendra Modi government successful. CITU, in its national secretariat meeting held on June 13-14 in New Delhi, reviewed the preparatory campaign activities being undertaken in the states and industries in the run-up to the strike.

THE two-day national executive of the BJP held in Allahabad on June 12-13 has confirmed the division of labour between the Modi-Shah duo. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi harped on vikas and his government’s commitment to push forward development, the BJP president Amit Shah spoke about the Hindutva issues such as the alleged exodus of Hindus from Kairana in Western Uttar Pradesh. The national executive, being held in Uttar Pradesh, focused on the BJP strategy for the forthcoming assembly elections in the state to be held by February 2017.
