Trump’s Trade War: Truce Possible but War Will Continue

The Trump-Xi meeting in South Korea today, 30th October, 2025 may have brought about a temporary relief in the US-China Trade war, but unless we see the fine print of the agreement, it is difficult to assess whether it is a temporary truce or the beginning of a rapprochement. The jury is still out on that one and we will wait for a better understanding of what has really been achieved in Busan South Korea.The hot topic starting with Trump’s second presidential term has been his tariff war, not only with China but with the entire world.

Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls: A Political Critique

FOLLOWING Bihar, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on October 27, that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls would begin in West Bengal and 11 other states.WHAT IS SIR?SIR is a special campaign conducted by the Election Commission of India to purify the electoral rolls by eliminating errors, inconsistencies or defects. Its primary objectives include deleting the names of the deceased and permanently shifted electors, including new eligible voters, and removing multiple entries for the same individual across different booths.

Left Wins Presidential Election in Ireland by a Landslide

CATHERINE Connolly (born 1957) only became involved in active politics in 1999. Michael D Higgins, the outgoing president of Ireland (2011-2025), encouraged Connolly to join the Labour Party and stand for election. Both Connolly and Higgins (known in Ireland as Michael D) come from Galway, a city on the west coast of Ireland. Connolly was born there, the ninth of fourteen children – seven girls and seven boys – in a working-class family. Her mother died when Catherine was only nine, and her father, a home builder, relied on his older children to care for the younger ones.

Various central government departments and state governments have been asked to send their comments to the ministry within 30 days.
