The following is the message of condolence sent by Sitaram Yechury, Polit Bureau member of the CPI(M) to Sudhakar Reddy, general secretary of the Communist Party of India on the demise of Comrade Satpal Dang. The message was sent on June 17, 2013. I EXPRESS my heartfelt condolences at the death of Comrade Satpal Dang. Comrade Satpal and Vimla Dang were role models for many generations including mine. The dedication with which Comrade Satpal Dang worked for our country’s freedom and to protect the secular fabric of our country from the machinations of the communal forces has always been a source of inspiration for the younger generation. His tireless commitment to Marxism-Leninism and its emancipatory ideals for comprehensive human liberation remained unblemished till the end. The loss of the moral authority that he commanded is a void that will remain unfulfilled. Please convey my profound condolences to all his comrades and followers.
