AP: AIDWA Conference Flags Declining Security for Women

STEEP price rise and the declining security for women in the country have become the toughest challenges for Indian women, concluded the AIDWA state conference held at Dr Seshareddy Vignana Kendram in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh from September 24- 26.

About 300 delegates representing two lakh members attended the conference which kickstarted with an impressive rally on the first day. Workers, youth, and student organisations have showered petals on the marching AIDWA members to express their solidarity.

TN: Homage to Comrade Kodiyeri Balakrishnan

CPI(M) Tamil Nadu state committee organised a memorial meeting to pay homage to Comrade Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on October 3 at Kerala Samajam, Chennai. 

Senior CPI(M) leader T K Rangarajan said that the Kannur district was in the forefront of the communist movement in Kerala from where many leaders like Ananthan Nambiar, V P Chintan, Sadaiyan Govindan, E K Nayanar, Pinarayi Vijayan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan came into the movement. 

Odisha: Big Rally Concludes September Campaign

A COLOURFUL dharna followed by a rally was held at Bhubaneswar on September 28, outside the state assembly, culminating 'September campaign', a call given by the Party.

Coming from various parts of the state with red flags, banners and placards shouting slogans the protesters joined the dharna. The main issues were livelihood and against pro-corporate communal forces led by BJP-RSS at the centre and anti-people decisions of the state government of BJD.

Tens of Thousands Bid Emotional Farewell

THOUSANDS of people lined the streets of Kannur at 3.30 pm in the afternoon on October 3 when the body of Comrade Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was taken in a procession from the CPI(M) Kannur district committee office to Payyambalam Beach. The three kilometre-long distance saw thousands of people in the funeral procession which was headed by Pinarayi Vijayan, other Polit Bureau members and senior leaders.

 

AP: Provide Relief to Polavaram Project Evacuees

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member B V Raghavulu warned the Andhra Pradesh state and the central governments of intensified protests if they fail to provide relief measures to the evacuees of the Polavaram Project. 

Addressing thousands from the tribal region at the meeting held at Kunavaram village of the Alluri Sitharama Raju district, he stressed that the government should do justice to the displaced who lost their livelihood and property for the project. 

Bihar: ‘Bharat Bachao-BJP Bhagao’ Rally in Patna Successful

THE September campaign against skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, the highest unemployment in the last 45 years, and the BJP’s unethical practice of poaching MLAs of opposition parties to subvert the democratic mandate and usurp power, culminated in a massive rally of peasants and workers in Patna on September 22. The ‘Bharat Bachao-BJP Bhagao’ (Save India – Oust BJP) rally was organised by the CPI(M) Bihar state committee.

Extensive Political campaign in Andhra Pradesh

SERIES of public meetings and rallies were conducted throughout Andhra Pradesh in the second fortnight of September in response to the call of CPI(M) Central committee. The corporate communal nexus of BJP rule that has been destroying the livelihoods of people was thoroughly exposed and the need to defeat them was explained as also the silence of YSRCP state government and of the main opposition TDP in opposing the BJP central government which is harmful to the interests of the state.
