BJP Gets Exposed in Andhra Pradesh

ELECTIONS to the Lok Sabha and the Andhra Pradesh Assembly were held on May 13, in the fourth phase. A record-breaking voter turnout of 81.86 per cent was recorded, with polling continuing until 2:00 am on May 14 at some locations. This surpassed the 2019 election turnout of 79.84 per cent. The chief electoral officer stated that this was the highest percentage of votes cast in any state during this election. Voters travelled from distant places to their native areas and voted enthusiastically. People flocked to the polling stations from 6:00 am on the election day in many places.

West Bengal: BJP Bubble Bursts in the Third Phase

THE third phase of polling in Bengal, which took place on May 7, involved a total of four seats –  Jangipur, Murshidabad, Malda North and Malda South. According to unrevised estimates, out of the two Lok Sabha constituencies of Malda and Murshidabad, the Murshidabad Lok Sabha constituency received the highest voter turnout – 76.49 per cent. Another Lok Sabha constituency in this district, Jangipur, polled 72.13 per cent. 73.30 per cent voted in Malda North and 73.68 per cent in Malda South.

Kerala: Vigilance Court Dismisses Congress MLA’s Petition

IN a significant setback for the Congress and its legislator Mathew Kuzhalnadan, the Vigilance Court in Thiruvananthapuram has dismissed his petition demanding an inquiry against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter T Veena. Congress leaders including Kuzhalnadan sought a direct inquiry by the vigilance court into his allegations concerning Exalogic Solutions Private Limited. Judge M V Rajakumara unequivocally declared the petition as being politically motivated, finding no irregularities under the anti-corruption act.

Maha: CPI(M) Campaigns for Defeat of BJP-NDA and Victory of MVA-INDIA

THREE of the five rounds of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra will be completed by the time this report is published. Overall, it is clear that so far it is advantage Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA-INDIA), so far as Maharashtra is concerned. BJP to Lose its Dominance in Karnataka

KARNATAKA went to polls in Phase 2 (14 seats of southern Karnataka on April 19) and in Phase 3 (14 seats of northern Karnataka on May 7), completing the electoral process.
