Assam: CPI(M) Holds Convention to Discuss Issues of People Living in Low-lying Riverbanks

CPI(M) Assam state committee organised a state-level 'Char-Chapori' Convention at Mandia in Barpeta district. Hundreds of people from different Char Chapori areas participated in the convention. A char is a floating island while chaporis are low-lying flood-prone riverbanks. The 'Char Chapori' areas of Assam are populated mainly by Muslim minorities. Party Central Committee member Isfaqur Rahman presided over the meeting.

ON September 6, 2022, Deshabhimani celebrated its 80th anniversary. Deshabhimani was begun on September 6, 1942, as a weekly. Later on, it was on  January 18, 1946 that Deshabhimani began publishing as a daily.Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated Deshabhimani’s anniversary celebrations on September 6, at Kozhikode, where its first edition was published. Maha: DYFI Holds Jatha to Rajgurunagar

ON August 24, 2022, hundreds of activists of the DYFI in Maharashtra reached Rajgurunagar in Pune district from various districts demanding employment and against the continuous repression of democratic resistances in our country. August 24 is the birth anniversary of martyr Rajguru, who was hanged by the British along with Martyrs Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev on March 23, 1931.
