Savitribai Phule: A Revolutionary Life of Struggle & Sacrifice: AIDWA Observes Birth Anniversary

THE life of Savitribai Phule and Jyotiba Phule is a saga of great sacrifice and courage. Born on January 3, 1831, in a peasant family, Savitribai was the first woman from Maharashtra who lit the flame of social revolution to change the oppressive thoughts and customs prevalent in the society. Her life had many dimensions and her work persists more than a century after her death on March 10, 1897, inspiring generations, of not just women but the dispossessed people of all genders, castes and communities.

AIDWA-DYFI-SFI to Conduct Joint Campaign from January 26-30

Haryana: Mine Collapse a Result of Govt Negligence

AS people all over the world ushered in the new year, a major accident took place due to illegal mining in Khanak Dadam hills of Bhiwani district of Haryana. In this January 1 accident, five labourers died and two were seriously injured. There was a big explosion in the hill of Dadam at 9 in the morning in which seven labourers and two pokland machines and four dumper vehicles were buried under the stones. A stone slipped from the mountain and fell, whose length was 40 feet, the width was 30 feet and whose weight is said to be seven tons.

ONE month after the suspension of the historic farmers’ struggle on December 11, 2021, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) met at the Singhu border on January 15, 2022. Over 250 leaders of various Kisan organisations attended. The four-member presidium of the meeting comprised Yudhvir Singh, Ashok Dhawale, Joginder Singh Ugrahan and Jagjit Singh Dallewal. The AIKS was also represented by P Krishnaprasad, Inderjit Singh and Sumit.

SIXTEENTH Madhya Pradesh state conference of the CPI(M) was held in Bhopal on January 16, 17, 18. HP: DYFI to fight for Employment & against Drug Menace

THE 12th state conference of DYFI Himachal Pradesh was held on January 8-9, 2022 at Shimla. The main slogan of the conference was “stop hate and drugs, provide employment”.The conference was held at a time when there was heavy snowing in Shimla and most of the roads leading to the state capital were blocked.
