WB: October Revolution It keeps Inspiring the World

CPI (M) West Bengal state committee organised a discussion on the ‘October Revolution: The Impact and the Chinese Way towards Socialism’ on November 7, at Pramode Dasgupta Bhavan (Kolkata district centre of the Party). The meeting was held after a daylong observation of the October Revolution at various places all over the state. Polit Bureau member Surjyakanta Mishra was the main speaker. Biman Basu presided over the meeting.Surjyakanta Mishra explained the importance of October Revolution and its relevance even to this day.

National Convention Calls for United Action to Protect Dalit Rights

HUNDREDS of people from across India gathered at HKS Surjeet Bhavan in New Delhi on November 5 for a day long national convention against growing attacks on dalits. The convention was jointly organised by Dalit Shoshan Mukti Much (DSMM), All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU), All India Dalit Rights Movement (AIDRM), Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union (BKMU) and All India Agricultural and Rural Labour Association (AIARLA).

J&K: AIKS State Conference at Srinagar

JAMMU & Kashmir Kisan Tehreek, an affiliate of the All India Kisan Sabha, held its day-long seventh Kashmir regional conference at Srinagar, Kashmir, on November 3, 2022. It was attended by 130 delegates from all the ten districts of the region. The J&K membership this year is 25,000, which is commendable considering the grave political challenges in Kashmir. The conference was attended by AIKS president Ashok Dhawale.The conference began with a flag hoisting ceremony by Zahoor Ahmad. The condolence resolution was placed by Ghulam Mohiudin Lone.

Kerala: Ordinance to Appoint Persons of Academic Excellence as Chancellor

KERALA cabinet has decided on November 9 to promulgate an ordinance to appoint eminent people with academic excellence to the post of chancellor of the universities. The government would draft a proposal in this regard and approach the governor to promulgate the ordinance. The proposed ordinance will allow for amending the university statutes to remove the governor from the post of chancellor of all 14 universities in the state.“The ordinance is meant to amend the university rules pertaining to the post of chancellor of the universities in the state.

Tripura: AIDWA Conference Evokes Encouraging Response

THE 20th state conference of All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) was held on November 1-2, 2022 at Agartala. The open session held on November 1 at the Town Hall, was attended by delegates coming from different parts of the state. Representatives from other mass organisations were also present in the session.The conference started with flag hoisting by the AIDWA state president Ramani Deb Barma. Thereafter floral tributes were paid to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of people. The delegate session started after that.

Towards 35th Conference of All India Kisan Sabha

SINCE the 33rd conference of the Kisan Sabha, a new trend emerged in the peasant movement. Kisan Sabha always stressed on the need for independent movements as it strengthens the organisation, spreads its influence, creates confidence within the organisation and helps to draw other organisations towards a united struggle. This led to the slogan of “Kisan Sabha in all villages and all kisans in Kisan Sabha”. The entire history of AIKS proved it. But AIKS gave equal importance to building a united kisan movement.

Tripura: October Revolution Anniversary Observed

THE 105th anniversary of the October Revolution was observed all across the state in Tripura. A hall meeting at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala was held on November 8.In the morning, at all the Party and trade union offices, red flags were hoisted. Floral tributes were paid to Karl Marx, Fredrick Engels, Lenin and Stalin at many places. Party offices were decorated with red lights and flags. In the state committee office of CPI(M) in Agartala, red flag was hoisted by senior kisan leader and former Polit Bureau member of the Party, Hannan Mollah.

West Bengal: AIKS, AIAWU & CITU Begin Statewide Padayatra

THE time has come to turn around and resist. Padayatras (foot marches) are being organised in every district of West Bengal as part of statewide demonstrations called by state units of AIKS, AIAWU and CITU. The marches are being held across rural areas in each district from November 1. They will reach every booth highlighting the demands of the people of the village. The corruption of the ruling party and government will be the focus of the campaign.
