WB: March to CBI Office in Kolkata on October 5

THE CBI and the ED are covering up crimes instead of arresting the main culprits. It has been 10 years since the Saradha chit fund scam happened. Eight years have passed since the Narada scam. Still the culprits have not been prosecuted. In other cases too, dilly-dallying is going on. Even the court is being forced to take this dismal failure seriously. To protest against this, the CPI(M) West Bengal state committee has decided to organise a massive march to the CBI office located at the CGO Complex in Salt Lake on October 5.

Maha: SKM Formation Convention Held in Mumbai

THE formation convention of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) in Maharashtra was enthusiastically held on September 5, 2023 at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre near Mantralaya (secretariat) in the heart of South Mumbai. It mobilised over 1,000 selected peasant activists from all over the state. They belonged to several different organisations, of which 13 were the main ones. IN a memorandum to the lieutenant governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Srinagar, sent on September 13, the Apple Farmers’ Federation of India (AFFI), underlined the calamity that awaits the apple growers of Jammu & Kashmir this marketing season due to the suspension of the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) by the union government. The MIS played an important role in procuring inferior quality C-grade apples in the Valley since 2017, when the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) first launched the scheme.
