Nationwide Campaign against communal, anti-national agenda of NDA Govt

THE Jan Ekta Jan Adhikar Andolan, a national platform of mass, class, and social organisations, groups and progressive individuals, has given a call for a weeklong campaign against the communal and anti-national agenda of the NDA government which will culminate with a protest action in the national capital on May 23.As part of the campaign – ‘NDA Sarkar ki Char Saal, Pol Khol, Halla Bol!’ (four years of NDA Government; Expose and Protest!) – huge mobilisations of people will be held in state capitals between May 16 and 22.

KERALA Protests against Petrol-Diesel Price Hike

THE CPI(M) organised protests all across Kerala against the continuous fuel price hikes in India which have made people's lives miserable.Thousands of people participated in the "Prathishedha Sangamam" (protest confluence) held at Kannur on May 4. A protest march was taken out from the Collectorate to the Stadium corner, where a massive public meeting was held. People participated in the protest by pushing two-wheelers and by carrying gas cylinders.

Left Parties Protest against Attacks in Tripura

THE Delhi state units of the Left parties – CPI(M), CPI, AIFB, RSP, CPI(M-L) Liberation, SUCI (C) and CGPI held a demonstration at Sansad Marg on March 9 to protest against the unprecedented attacks on Left cadres and supporters in Tripura by the RSS-BJP following the recent assembly polls in the state.Addressing the protestors, Prakash Karat, Polit Bureau member of the CPI(M) said that these attacks were aimed at browbeating the Left parties and their supporters in Tripura. They constitute a heinous attack on democracy.

Students and teachers from different universities marched from Mandi House to Parliament Street in New Delhi on March 4, against ABVP'S gundaraj and their assault on students and teachers outside Ramjas college.Addressing the gathering, Sitaram Yechury said that the ABVP's goondaraj will not be tolerated and united resistance will be waged against anti-people, anti-student government. His only ‘fault’ was that he was a polling agent of the CPI(M) in Bhagabanpur assembly constituency. Pradhan, along with his father was kidnapped by the TMC miscreants.
