West Bengal Assembly Elections: CPI(M) Announces Candidates List
Left Front West Bengal has announced the list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. Left Front chairman Biman Bose announced the list of candidates the day after the Election Commission announced the date of the election. In West Bengal voting will take place in two phases on April 23 and April 29, 2026, with the counting of votes to be held on May 4.
The list of candidates for 192 seats has been released. The names of the remaining candidates will also be released in the next few days, Comrade Biman Bose said.
Twenty-eight women are on the list of candidates released. As per the first list CPIM West Bengal will be contesting 143 seats, All India Forward Bloc 20 seats, Communist Party of India 15 seats, Revolutionary Socialist Party 12 Seats, Revolutionary Communist Party of India and Marxist Forward Bloc will be contesting 1 seat each.
