Gujarat SFI State Secretary Elected As Sarpanch of Vadvasa Gram Panchayat

SATYESHA Leuva, state secretary of the Gujarat unit of the Students' Federation of India (SFI), has been elected as the sarpanch of Vadvasa gram panchayat in Prantij taluka, Sabarkantha district, Gujarat. The gram panchayat elections were held across the state on June 22, 2025.

A dedicated activist with nearly a decade of experience in student and people’s movements, Satyesha has played an important role in various struggles. She currently is a district committee member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Sabarkantha and is an invitee to the Party state committee in Gujarat.

Satyesha came to prominence for her vocal opposition to the demolition drives carried out by the Gujarat government and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, where she stood firmly with the affected people.

In the recent gram panchayat elections, Satyesha contested against two other candidates and secured victory with a significant margin. This can be seen as a reflection of growing grassroots support for progressive and people-oriented politics in rural Gujarat.
