Delhi: Left Parties Protest against US-Israel Attack on Iran

ON July 25, 2025, the Left parties – Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation, Revolutionary Socialist Party and All India Forward Bloc – held a joint protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against US imperialism and the unprovoked attack on Iran by the United States and Israel.

The attack is not only baseless but also a grave violation of international law and the sovereignty of nations.

Addressing the protest, R Arun Kumar, Polit Bureau member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), stated: "Over 56,000 people have been killed so far in Israel’s aggression against Palestine, yet the Indian government abstains from voting in the United Nations against this genocide. Even after the recent US-Israeli attack on Iran, the Indian government remains silent. If you do not stand against crimes against humanity, you are silently endorsing them."

He emphasized that the Left parties demand: Immediate freedom for Palestine, full Statehood and international recognition for Palestine, and the right of return and resettlement in their homeland for Palestinians living across the world.

He further stressed that Israel and the United States are crushing the freedom and sovereignty of the people of West Asia through their repressive actions. Unless attacks and oppression on sovereign nations cease, any ceasefire will remain fragile and unsustainable.

The Left parties also demanded that the Modi government abandon its pro-American foreign policy and adopt a stance that upholds international law, human rights, and national sovereignty.

Representatives of various Left parties also addressed the gathering, including Amarjeet Kaur (CPI), Sucheta De (CPI-ML), RS Dagar (RSP), and G Devrajan (Forward Bloc).
