Telegana: A Tearful Farewell to Comrade Yerra Srikanth- CPI(M) Pays Tribute to a Committed Leader

COMRADE Yerra Srikanth, Telangana State Committee member of the CPI(M), who passed away suddenly due to a heart attack while attending the 24th Party Congress in Madurai, was given a tearful farewell in Khammam on April 9, 2025. Hundreds of people and Party cadres gathered to pay their last respects and joined the final procession.

Members of the Party’s Telangana State Secretariat participated in the funeral. CPI(M) Polit Bureau member R Arun Kumar paid floral tributes to Srikanth’s mortal remains. During the final journey, his bier was carried by Arun Kumar, Party State Secretariat members Pothineni Sudarshan and Nunna Nageswara Rao, as well as MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra.

Artists from the Praja Natya Mandali paid homage through cultural performances, celebrating the life and struggles of the late leader.

Earlier, a condolence meeting was held at Srikanth’s home. In a moving tribute, Polit Bureau member Arun Kumar, Telangana State Secretary John Wesley, Central Committee members Tammineni Veerabhadram and M Saibabu, along with CPI(M) Andhra Pradesh State Secretariat member                         Y Venkateswara Rao, addressed the funeral, honouring Comrade Srikanth’s lifelong commitment to the communist movement and the struggles of the working class.
