Delhi: Left Parties Protest Mob-Lynching
A JOINT protest organised by the state committees of the Left parties – CPI(M), CPI, CPI(ML), RSP Forward Bloc and CGPI – was held at Haryana Bhawan on September 7, against the incidents of murder and mob-lynching in the name of cow protection in Haryana. CPI(M) state secretariat member Asha Sharma, Brajesh, state committee member Anju Jha, Ishwar Tyagi and CPI's Babban along with many comrades were arrested while protesting.
In a dastardly incident at Faridabad, a 19-year-old student Aryan Mishra was shot dead by the self-styled cow vigilantes who are thriving under the tacit protection of the Haryana police. In a similar incident, a Bengali Muslim working as a scrap dealer was lynched on the suspicion that he might have eaten cow meat! All these incidents are happening while the union home ministry is tom tomming that they have brought in lynching under the new criminal laws.
The RSS-BJP is working to polarise Haryana by intensifying communal politics before the assembly elections.
The act to forcibly arrest the protesters at Haryana Bhavan speaks volumes of the actions of the Delhi Police under Amit Shah. Only the other day, the Delhi Police allowed an RSS fringe group led by Kapil Mishra to hold a convention at Mandi House in which speakers after speakers have made incendiary speeches. The Left parties outrightly condemn this attitude of the Delhi Police as the protesters were arrested and taken to Kapashera police station in a bus.
