CPI(M) Condemns Kathua Militant Attack

The repeated terror incidents expose claims of normalcy and peace in J&K

THE Jammu & Kashmir state committee of the CPI(M), in a statement issued on July 10, has condemned the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district that left five soldiers martyred and several others injured.

The administration must introspect as to why such sad incidents are repeatedly occurring in the region. Tall claims of normalcy and peace have been mismatching on the ground. Even in the recent past several militant attacks have taken place in this region but the administration seems to be caught napping instead of talking to different credible voices in the region. The administration is indifferent to such voices. While taking effective measures against those involved in such heinous activities, the administration must reach to the people and listen to them so that their support is utilised to isolate the extremist elements.

Peace cannot be restored unless the rights of the people are protected and confidence created among the people. It is through this process that terrorism can be fought alongwith the necessary measures to be taken by the security agencies.
