CPI(M) Delegation Visits Muzaffarnagar

A CPI(M) delegation comprising Polit Bureau member Subhashini Ali and John Brittas, member of parliament, Rajya Sabha visited the family of the young Muslim boy on August 30, who had been so cruelly treated by his teacher who is also the owner of the school.

The delegation met Irshad and Rubina, the boy’s parents, and the young boy in their joint family home in village Khubbapur, Muzaffarnagar. They are poor people.  Their two older sons are working in Chandigarh. The younger of them had to give up his studies and become a daily wage earner.  They had both gone to meet the teacher but she expressed no regret for what she had done.  The CPI(M) delegation assured them  support and solidarity and said that the education of the young boy and his brother would be taken care of.

Subhashini Ali and John Brittas were informed that the school's licence has been cancelled. They have demanded the arrest of the teacher and said that the UP government seemed to be implementing laws in a biased manner which was extremely unfortunate.

SFI DELEGATION
MEETS THE FAMILY

In the village of Khubbapur in Muzaffarnagar, a distressing incident happened where a school teacher driven by communal animosity, asked the fellow classmates of a Muslim student to beat him up. The Students' Federation of India (SFI), extended its support to the victimised student and his family. On August 27, a delegation from SFI visited Khubbapur village to express support.

During discussions with Irshad, the father of the affected student, the SFI delegation inquired about the student's well-being who was subjected to physical and psychological trauma.

Prabudh Singh, SFI's Uttar Pradesh state president, emphasized that the visit aimed to provide comprehensive assistance to the victimised student. SFI, being a responsible student organisation, consistently advocates for the welfare of students. Fostering communal harmony in the state necessitates the active involvement of students and youth, who must stand against communalism and caste-based discrimination within educational institutions. SFI has assumed responsibility for the victimised student's educational pursuits and health.
