Telangana: US Sanctions on Cuba Must End
THE inhuman and cruel sanctions of the US on Cuba must end, and with the support of the people, Cuba will fight against American imperialism, said revolutionary hero Ernesto Che Guevara’s daughter Aleida Guevara at the Cuba Solidarity meeting held in Hyderabad on January 22.
She asserted that to achieve this goal, solidarity from countries all over the globe is vital.
The auditorium was jam-packed with supporters and the general public who even sat outside the auditorium to listen to her speech. They raised slogans in support of Cuba and against the US.
Several Speakers expressed solidarity with Cuba and their resentment towards the US.
DG Narasimha Rao chaired the meeting, and Bala Mallesh welcomed the guests.
CPI(M) state secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram placed a resolution against imperialism. Among those who spoke on the occasion were R Arun Kumar from the National Committee for Solidarity with Cuba, Justice Radharani, Prof. Haragopal, Planning Commission vice-chairman B Vinod Kumar, TRS MLC Goreti Venkanna, Prof K Nageswar, poet Ashok Teja, other political leaders, newspaper editors K Srinivasu, K Srinivasa Reddy, V Murali, AND Arunodaya Vimala.
Earlier, Aleida Guevara and her daughter Estafania Guevara were accorded a grand welcome at Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad by the National Committee for Solidarity with Cuba (NCSC), IPSO, CPI(M), other Left parties and different mass organisations.
