Gujarat: SFI Holds State Conference

AFTER a long hiatus of 33 years, the state Conference of SFI's Gujarat state unit was held on November 6, 2022 in Ahmedabad and it was SFI Gujarat's third state conference. The second conference of SFI Gujarat was held at Sidhpur (Patan) on January 31-February 1, 1989. The third conference was inaugurated by V P Sanu SFI, all India president and Nitheesh Narayanan, SFI central secretariat member. Arun Mehta, CITU Gujarat state secretary and Hitendra Bhatt, AIIEA joint secretary, Satish Parmar, CITU Gujarat state president had extended revolutionary greetings to the SFI conference. 

The conference was attended by 121 delegates from four districts of Gujarat. The work and organisational reports were placed and the conference unanimously passed the report. Then, the conference elected a 21-member state committee with Nitish Mohan and Dipak Patil as state secretary and president respectively. Satyesha Leuva and Ajay Patel were elected as joint secretaries and Mansi Raval and Aagman Leuva as vice presidents and Harekrishna Rathod as a secretariat member.

The conference concluded with the pledge to strengthen the organisation and the student movement in Gujarat, to reach every student of the state and fight against privatisation and commercialisation of education in Gujarat.
