Tripura: October Revolution Anniversary Observed

THE 105th anniversary of the October Revolution was observed all across the state in Tripura. A hall meeting at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala was held on November 8.

In the morning, at all the Party and trade union offices, red flags were hoisted. Floral tributes were paid to Karl Marx, Fredrick Engels, Lenin and Stalin at many places. Party offices were decorated with red lights and flags. In the state committee office of CPI(M) in Agartala, red flag was hoisted by senior kisan leader and former Polit Bureau member of the Party, Hannan Mollah. Daily Desher Katha brought out special edition of the paper containing articles of Party leaders regarding the significance of the October Revolution and its present day relevance. More than 10,000 extra copies of special issues of Daily Desher Katha were sold on that day.

In the hall meeting, Polit Bureau member Manik Sarkar briefly explained the phases of socialist construction and positive aspects of socialist system in the USSR for emancipation of toiling masses. He also spoke about the present political situation in the country and in the state.

Party state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury narrated the gradual decline of world capitalist economy , and said the capitalist system has failed to address the basic needs of the toiling people because the system cannot sustain without exploiting the toil of the working people.
