Mischievous elements are trying to create unrest in Punjab

IN a press note issued on August 31, CPI(M) Punjab has  strongly condemned the attack on a church in Thakkarpura village near Patti town in the Tarn Taran district.

Alleging a conspiracy behind this attack, CPI(M) demanded from the Punjab government that strict action should be taken after identifying such mischievous and anti-social elements.
It is pertinent to mention here that the miscreants tried to create an atmosphere of fear and terror by setting fire to a church in the village so as to disturb the communal unity of Punjab.

CPI(M)  said that Punjab has been suffering losses due to communal conspiracies for a long time. During the partition of India in 1947, the screams of the pain of displacement and massacre of millions of people had not yet subsided when Punjab was under the clouds of dark days of terrorism in the 80s. Thousands of people were killed during terrorism and Punjab suffered a huge economic loss that the state has not been able to recover till today.
CPI(M) said that from time to time mischievous elements keep indulging in nefarious activities to create unrest in the state. But the centuries-old bond of Punjabis has been able to defeat all designs of such elements.

Now a move has been made to create a conflict with the people of the Christian faith by setting fire to a church, which is a highly condemnable act, CPI(M)  said.
