UP: State-level Convention of Left and Democratic Parties
ON July 6, 2022, a political convention of representatives of the four Left and democratic parties of Uttar Pradesh, concluded at the state office of the Communist Party of India.
Representatives of the CPI(M), CPI, CPI-ML, Forward Bloc and Loktantrik Janata Dal participated in the conference. The meeting was presided over by CPI state secretary, Girish. On this occasion, various speakers said that like the country, Uttar Pradesh is going through the deepest crisis after independence today. The policies and actions of the government of 'double engine' have put the general public in deep trouble. The economy is in shambles. In the name of dealing with it, a huge burden is being imposed on the public.
Only a few capitalists are being made rich by selling the public sector, levying many pseudo-taxes, raising inflation and making the youth unemployed.
The general public is forced to suffer immense suffering and this anger is being expressed in many small, unorganised and spontaneous actions. The anti-people and corporatist governments at the centre and in Uttar Pradesh are sensing this outrage. Therefore, every moment they are engaged in conspiracies to divert and suppress the anger. With these gimmicks, they are imposing new divisive agendas by sabotaging the aspirations of the people. Opposition and Left activists are being harassed.
The speakers said that regular jobs are being snatched away by the government and unemployment has reached unprecedented levels. According to the report of CMIE, in the month of June itself, one crore thirty lakh people have been added to the list of unemployed. The central government has now launched a big attack on the patriotic and unemployed youth by implementing the Agneepath scheme. It is also playing with the security of the country. The youth movement has been badly crushed for protesting and they have been put in jails.
The Uttar Pradesh government is running away from the demands being raised by a large section of the public. BJP duped dalits and backwards in the name of caste and religion, got their votes and formed governments, but now it is stealing from the question of social justice and solutions to their problems. That is why, the central and state governments are continuously delaying the caste-based census and enumeration, while in Uttar Pradesh also, the demand for conducting caste census on the lines of Bihar is continuously rising. Despite allegations of rampant corruption in the MLA fund, the Uttar Pradesh government has increased the MLA fund to Rs 5 crore. By cutting the funds of public welfare schemes, MLAs are being made rich.
People's lives are in danger and many farmers and others have committed suicides, either themselves or with their families, suffering from lack of money. Withdrawal from traditional employment generation schemes, limitation of MGNREGA, recruitment jams and privatisation of public sector units, unemployment has pushed youth and labourers into the pit of starvation.
In order to divert attention from the problems being pursued by the governments, to implement its anti-minority ideology based on hatred and division by the power-drenched Sangh Parivar through the governments, a massive hate campaign is being launched against the minorities today. Is. The price of this is being paid by the people of the country and the state.
People angry with burning problems are being frightened by running bulldozers and giving free rein to the police. Atrocities on women, dalits and weaker sections are crossing all limits. Police attacks on the Left and other democratic forces and figures have intensified. Despite all this politically motivated repression, the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh is in a dilapidated condition.
At this convention, it was decided to run the campaign together. For this, first of all, joint regional conferences will be organised on burning questions of the public. The first conference will be organised in the month of August in Varanasi, in which the further outline of the campaign will also be presented.
It was decided to constitute a coordination committee for the conduct of the joint operation, which has been named "Coordination Committee of Left Parties and Democratic Forces".
In the convention, the state secretary of CPI(M), Hira Lal Yadav, CPI state secretary, Girish, CPI-ML state secretary, Sudhakar Yadav and Uday Raj Singh, D K Yadav, Zubair Ahmed, former MLA Imtiaz Ahmed, Madhu Garg, B L Bharti, Arun Singh, Ex-MLA Ram Lal, Arvind Raj Swaroop, Premnath Rai, Ramesh Sengar, and Ashok Mishra participated.
