AP: Small Cloth Vendor Donates Rs One Lakh to Tripura Solidarity Fund
A SMALL cloth vendor and sympathiser of CPI(M), Sarikonda Ramakrishnam Raju of Rompicharla in Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh donated one lakh rupees to the CPI(M) Tripura solidarity fund. His father, Chinamalekondam Raju breathed his last recently at the age of 98. Chinamalekondam Raju saved Rs 4,75,275 in a bank. Ramakrishnam Raju received Rs 95,055 as his share along with his four brothers. Raju added Rs 4,945 to it and contributed Rs 1,00,000 to the Tripura solidarity fund. In spite of his financial condition, Ramakrishnam Raju wanted to support the brave cadre and sympathisers of CPI(M), the victims of BJP attacks in Tripura. Taking this sacrifice as an inspiration, Poranki Saroja and Sadhu Venkayamma donated Rs 5,000 each and Pusapati Venkata Narasaraju gave Rs 500. The total amount of Rs 1,10,500 was handed over to V Srinivasa Rao, CPI(M) Andhra Pradesh state secretary with a request to remit it to the Party Tripura state committee. Srinivasa Rao thanked them and appreciated the sacrifice of the sympathisers.
