Rajasthan: Kisans March Towards Delhi
THOUSANDS of kisans on December 15, under the joint leadership of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha(Joint Kisan Front), and on the call of AIKSCC reached Shahjahanpur where they were stopped by the Haryana police. Shahjahanpur is the border of Rajasthan and Haryana states. These kisans were mainly from Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana. Since last three days, the Jaipur-Delhi National Highway has been blocked as the kisans are not allowed to march forward to Delhi. There is a continuous dharna at Shahjahanpur.
Hundreds of kisans from Sriganganagar came on dozens of tractors and reached the venue. The agitating farmers are getting support from almost all sections of the people. A delegation of advocates from Rewari district also reached the site in support of the kisan agitation. The advocates declared in the public meeting that in case the government registers false cases against the kisans they will contest such cases free of cost.
The kisans in the meeting firmly resolved that they are prepared to fight a long battle against the farm laws. They said they are committed to fighting the nefarious designs of the central government which is protecting the interests of the corporates.
While joining the struggle two kisans, Goldi and Labh Singh died on the way. A condolence meeting was held at the site to condole their death.
The agitating kisans were addressed by Amra Ram and Viju Krishnan from the AIKS, Yogender Yadav and Rajiv Godara, leaders Swaraj Abhiyan and Sanjay Madhav.
