TELANGANA: Left Parties Pledge to Protect Constitution on I-day

THE Left parties in Telangana marked Independence Day by pledging to save the constitution of India. In the programme held across the 34 districts, members of the parties raised slogans to save the Indian constitution and its secular fabric. They also raised slogans against communalism and resolved to drive away the disruptors of the constitution of the country.

The members of the parties took an oath to protect the democratic and socialist and secular values. To achieve social and political equality, requisite rights like freedom of expression, freedom of faith and worship, are to be protected and also integrity and sovereignty of the nation and brotherhood among people. They pledged their lives to protect and fight for these values.

In the background of both the central and state governments failing to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state that is resulting in an economic downfall and difficulties to the people, the Left parties workers pledged to fight for the life and better living conditions of the people and their rights.

Polit Bureau member B V Raghavulu, speaking on this occasion at the programme held in Hyderabad, said that it is strange that the leaders in power today are singing glories of freedom struggle, when they themselves are the descendents of the people who opposed freedom struggle and collaborated with the British. It will be an illusion to think that such people will save our constitutional values, he said and called on the people to join the struggle to save the democratic and secular values of the constitution. He said that Atma Nirbhar Bharat is really a scheme to mortgage India to the US and that all classes of people in the country are at threat under the BJP government.

CPI national secretary K Narayana said that the Ayodhya Ram mandir puja was organised to belittle Independence Day,  and to divert the attention of the people. He said that Modi is the real traitor who is flouting the constitutional values. He also said that the BJP is trying to belittle Gandhiji by glorifying Godse.

Tammineni Veerabhadram, CPI(M) state secretary, alleged that the state government is fudging the number of Covid cases and urged the government to take over private hospitals and provide free treatment to all Covid-19 patients. CPI state secretary Chada Venkatareddy said that the Modi government is giving away all natural resources to the corporates and said that it is necessary to fight and save them. Central Committee members of the Party – S Veeraiah, G Nagaiah, state secretariat  members – D G Narasimha rao, B Venkat, John Wesly, CPI leaders and Party city leaders also participated in the programme held in Hyderabad.
