KERALA: SFI distributes Televisions to Students

THE SFI Kannur district committee has started the distribution of televisions to those students who do not have access to a television.  As a first step, SFI distributed 500 smart TVs to the Kannur district panchayat. The campaign is getting very good support from the public.

This is happening in a scenario when the Left Democratic Front government in Kerala is trying to provide classes to all the students, through the education channel of the state. SFI in the state has come up to take this challenge to support the government's effort to provide education to every student in the state, when the schools are shut due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Along with SFI, DYFI and other progressive organisations are also taking up the campaign. It is expected that Kerala, a state which had a TV penetration rate of around 92 per cent in 2018, which is the highest in India, will now reach 100 per cent within weeks.
