Bihar: Protest for Ration in the State

SHIMMERING discontent among the daily wage earners, poor people, transport workers, and unorganised sector workers, rural peasants and agriculture workers came to the fore as they responded in a big way at the call of CITU, AIKS, AIAWU, AIDWA, SFI, DYFI and raised the collective war cry,  ‘provide  ration instead of speeches’. The slogan reverberated all across Bihar on April 21. People from house tops, balconies, offices of various mass organisations, in the streets, on roads and the open fields, carrying posters with demands for providing food and other necessities, medical facilities, financial help to tide over the crisis, came in the open to register their protest.  They also raised the voice against the recent move of the central government to increase the working period from eight to 12 hours.
The protesters have have warned the central and state governments either to fulfil their responsibilities towards the people or face the music.

At Patna, leaders of the mass organisations of the people joined the protest activities at different Places. CITU state secretary, Ganesh Shankar Singh, AIAWU state president, Devendra Chaurasia and other leaders came outside the state headquarter along with posters and raised the demands. AIKS state secretarty, Binod Jha joined the protest outside the kisan sabha office. AIDWA state office bearers, Sunita Kumari, Sarita Pandey, DYFI state president, Manoj Chandrawansi, Kumar Nishant from SFI joined the protest activity along with the family members and other neighbours at their residences. 

Other than the leaders and the activists of the mass organisations Party leaders also came forward and register their protest.

CPI(M) Bihar state secretary, Awadhesh Kumar, secretariat member Rampari came outside the balcony along with handwritten posters, similarly Party CC Member, Arun Kumar Mishra came outside the office building, having poster in his hand and raised the demands.

Other leaders of the Party like Rajendra Prasad Singh, Ramashray Singh, Lalan Choudhary, Ajay Kumar, Ahamad Ali, Shyam Bharti, Prabhuraj Narain Rao also joined the protest activities at different places.
