Satyagraha call on Mahatma Gandhi’s martyrdom day

THE Left parties comprising CPI(ML)-Liberation, CPI and CPI(M) observed one day satyagraha programme in different parts of the state. This call was given against the attacks on the democratic rights of the people of the country especially after the unilateral passing of the Citizenship(Amendment) Act and the proposed implementation of the NPR and NRC. In Patna, the capital of Bihar, in front of the Gandhi’s statue, in Gandhi Maidan, leaders of Left Parties participated in the programme. Those who spoke in the satyagraha include: Awdesh Kumar, Ganesh shankar singh, Manoj Kumar Chandravanshi and Arun Kumar Mishra-CPI(M),  Sunita Sinha-AIDWA, Dipankar Bhattacharya and  Dhirender Jha from CPI(ML), Vijay Mishra, Ramlala from CPI.

The speakers criticised the Nitish government of Bihar for favouring the CAA and asked the chief minister to follow the Kerala government and pass a resolution in the assembly to not to implement the NPR and NRC.

Awadesh Kumar condemned the Nitish government for stopping the mass awareness (jan jagran) jatha at Champaran and for arresting Kanahiya Kumar and other leaders. The Left Parties called upon the people to not to answer the questions in the NPR.
