Chattisgarh: CPI(M) participates in Human Chain

THE CPI(M) participated in the Human Chain in different parts of the state along with other mass organisations and Left Parties and took oath on secularism and on protecting the Constitution of India. The call was observed on January 30th. In Raipur, the capital of Chattisgarh, Sanjay Parate addressed the meeting after the Human Chain. He said the CAA is a divisive law that divides the country on the basis of religion and goes against the basic tenets of our constitution. He appealed to the people that the NPR questionnaire should not be answered. Rajesh Awasthi, Ajay Kanoje and Puran Chand also addressed the gathering.

In Korba after paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, a Human Chain was formed. Prashant Jha, N N Banerjee, V M Manohar, Janak Das Kuldeep, Surti Kuldeep-ward councilor and Rajkumari Kanwar participated in the Human Chain. Prashant Jha later addressed a public meeting and said that the CAA-NPR-NRC is against the landless, tribals, agricultural workers and other sections of backward classes. He castigated and shamed the central government for forcing the citizens to prove their citizenship in their own country. Prashant said this will have a detrimental affect on the people’s livelihood, apart from harming the unity of the people.

In Bhilai, CPI(M) and CITU activists formed a Human Chain which was led by D V S Reddy and P Venkat. In Bilaspur Ravi Banerjee, Nand Kashyap participated in the Human Chain.
