JEJAA to join Human Chain on Jan 30

THE working group meeting of Jan Ekta Jan Adhikaar Andolan (JEJAA) held in New Delhi has called upon all sections of the people of the country to intensify the ongoing agitations against the attack on constitution and democracy through the CAA/NRC/NPR.  In a press release issued on January 15, it said that the campaign and mobilisation will be held in support of the following demands:

I. Repeal the anti-constitutional Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens and National Population Register throughout the country
II. Stop privatisation of PSU’s including railways, defense, power sector and basic services
III.  Halt growing  unemployment
IV.  Against state sponsored attack on students and on campuses and commercialisation of education

JEJAA will observe January 30, 2020, the 72nd martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi to expose the communal RSS agenda of Hindu Rashtra, and to save the secular fabric of the country. The constituent organisations of JEJAA will organise human chains across the country. The time and venue of the human chain will be decided by the state level leadership of constituent organisations of JEJAA and preparatory meetings will be held at state and district level immediately.
JEJAA member organisations will observe January 23, 2020, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, as ‘Save Democracy Day’ by organising public meetings at block/sub division level. On January 26, 2020, the Republic day will be observed as Save Constitution Day; the preamble of the constitution will be read in the mass meetings at district level.

JEJAA as a platform represents more than 20 crore members across the country, belonging to mass, class and social organisations of workers, peasants, students, youth, women, adivasis, dalits, minorities, cultural activists, intellectuals and progressive individuals. The members of JEJAA will contact all those likeminded organisations and individuals to bring them together in the massive campaign and struggles ahead and build maximum unity of the people to compel the Narendra Modi led government to withdraw the anti-national and anti-constitutional CAA, NRC, NPA and anti-people economic policies that breed privatisation of public sector, unemployment and attack on democratic rights of the people.
