CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on October 17

THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the continuous attacks on the CPI(M) offices and the leadership in Tripura by the BJP-led state government.

The attacks are purportedly on the plea that there are charges against Badal Chowdhury, a former PWD minister of the Left Front government and a Central Committee member of the Party.  There is enough evidence on record to clearly establish that there is absolutely no substance in this charge and is a case of blatant frame up.  This excuse is being used to raid CPI(M) offices, including the state committee office.

From the sequence of events, it is also very clear that the BJP and its administration is trying everything possible to prejudice, if not subvert, the judicial process.

The CPI(M) is absolutely certain that any independent judicial scrutiny would absolve Badal Chowdhury of all framed up charges.  The Polit Bureau expresses its resolve that the Party, including that in Tripura, together with the people will fight this obnoxious authoritarian onslaught both legally and politically.
